Who remembers that Audi was an invented brand? Originally launched by Mercedes_Benz as an entry brand, then sold to VW, trying, and failing, to convince the world to buy VW 412, the Audi 80 became the accidental cornerstone on which VW built its FWD empire. Before the Golf, after the K70, the Audi 80 was the first VAG car to show the road ahead.
So where are they now? Well, here´s one which has survived in apparently good condition in Albacoa, Portugal (100kms north of Lisbon). For 750€, you apparently get a 92000km car in good clean condition, finished in a fetching period correct green. Original interior, all trim present and correct, spoiled only by wrong-sized out of period aftermarket alloys (sell on for 150€?).
Many owners in Portugal really look after their cars, so it could be true. And if so, you can drive this around and then sell it to a Benelux Eurotuner for 5000€ (if your conscience is OK with slamming, stancing and fitting a luggage rack to a nice old car).
